Depends what n the season. In summer I like to incorporate fresh fruit and in the fall or winter I focus on chocolate or nuts or maple or pumpkin.

I like chocolate I try to skew it seasonally (maybe a chocolate coffee granita in the summer, dark chocolate and orange flourless torte in winter), but gooey brownies work year round

Agree! Also depends on what the meal is. Heavier meal generally means lighter dessert.

Depends. I make a great carrot cake and lemon polenta cake.
But sometimes in summer I just want a lemon sorbet and a cookie. I also love frilled peaches with a good vanilla ice cream.

Old fashioned fruit soaked in wine topped with vanilla ice cream. Also offer a non-alcoholic version. It is easy and great for hot days.

When the weather is warm I love to make a berry trifle with fresh whipped cream. So yummy! And not too heavy at the end of a dinner party.

Pie in the summer, in the cold months I prefer cake of some sort (carrot or chocolate) or crumble (apple).
