If a parent tries to call you, not text for a playdate in 5th grade, does that mean they are overbearing?

sorry a "hangout"

No. In fifth grade, parents were still coordinating this stuff. This has changed some this year in 6th grade — although parents still have a way to reach me if they want to do so.

Some people prefer actually talking to texting/ especially if they have never met you before. It may feel impersonal for them to text you.

DCUM moms are so uptight. A parent calling you makes her overbearing??

Maybe old fashioned, that’s all

Personally I much prefer texts but I would never think to describe someone who calls as overbearing. It's more of a generation thing.

I have mostly text interactions with other parents, but one person in particular calls me when she's driving to coordinate stuff.

I don't mind it and find it more efficient sometimes.

Are you a troll or a nut job?

Way overthinking. Be happy that your child has a friend who wants a playdate and that the parent is willing to host and don't worry about the details.

It means they prefer calling to texting. That's all.
