Common App vs SRAR updates

College app process question.. I know that once a college downloads the common app, any changes made will not be sent to that college. So one can customize the common app essay to each school or set of schools as necessary.

How does it work for the SRAR? Once we submit the SRAR do colleges download it and that's it? Are colleges notified of subsequent SRAR updates (e.g. course change after end of semester 1) and can we assume they saw it?
