In 24 hour?
1 week? 1 month? Assume it was for a true emergency where tax consequences don’t matter to you, like a ransom |
What |
$20k in 24 hours
$150k in a week |
Making no call: 200K (which is idiotic, but whatever)
Making a call, but 24 hour access: another 1M During trading hours: Another 3M Once I'm old enough to take out of 401Ks: another 3M |
This is a fun game.
-In a few hours, probably just whatever ATM has plus $200 and whatever is my wallet. -A week / month $2million but thats all I have in the world other than my house. |
$25k as fast as I can make it to bank
$200k in few days Not a whole lot, but I only make $20k a year. |
Commenters are conflating real cash with bank/wire transfer. |
I mean, OP said: 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month? I can pull a lot of cash out of assorted accounts. I literally can go to my bank and pull out verified funds in my accounts. I am not wiring them to myself. |
Wait are we talking handing some fat stacks of $50 bills in a shopping bag to a guy in an SUV? Or fake sending a wire so someone on the phone can say "I have a very particular set of skills..." |
Does gold count? |
What are the rules about cash withdrawals from a bank?
From a credit union? My credit union doesn't usually even have cash on hand, I don't think. I have about $40,000 in the credit union but I don't know how long it would take to withdraw it as actual cash. I think they could give me a cashiers check though - would the kidnappers accept a cashiers check? |
Op here. I didn’t mean it quite that literally. Wire is fine. But if you have the funds not in dollars (ie stocks, foreign currency or other assets, it is what you can liquidate in the time frame). |
24 hrs $6.5 million |
I have like $65 in my wallet. |
I have $7 and I could drain my checking and savings. That’s at $221 right now. |
