Grout paint for large area - white tile with sheen

We just purchased a one level home with 12x12 tiles throughout every room. They are white (dated looking) and have some sheen. We can’t afford to replace quite yet. The grout is awful to look at, it’s an old nasty white.

I’d like to try grout paint to refresh the look for now. Has anyone used this? What’s it like? What brand did you use. Should I stick with white again? I’d like the floors to disappear under area rugs as much as possible. I’m not looking for contrast.

This is what gives me pause. It’s going to be very time consuming to to paint that many grout lines. You have to go in small sections at a time to keep things precise. I would try doing a small 3x3 section and see how long it takes before deciding to do all the rooms. FWIW, I’ve heard that it’s not too hard to put LVT over tile, and it would probably take less time than painting all that grout.

Pp. polyblend grout renew has a sealer in it so you won’t have to seal the grout. White tile is tough. You might not want all the contrast of a darker grout, but white grout will quickly look dingy again

I used the Polyblend grout paint in a bathroom and it goes remarkably fast. If you have kids and a dog, it could be a problem waiting for the grout paint to dry.

I spent a couple of days cleaning the light grout around my white kitchen tile with Grout-eeze (which works great), and it was dirty again so quickly. I’ve just given up and am going to pretend the grout is naturally dark. We had stone laid in another room, and I went with darker grout for this reason.
