3 year old spayed indoor cat with no health issues, often has a stinky butt. Her butt is clean - there's no poop on it (I've wiped). She's not overweight at all, very energetic and active, cleans herself regularly, but sometimes when she puts her butt in my face (as cats sometimes do) it smells STANKY. STAN. KY.
What is this? How can I remedy it? She eats a mix of dry and wet food, and all things considered, seems in great health. |
Anal glands need to be expunged by a vet or vet assistant. Could be infected. Needs to be seen & treated ASAP--or could result in need for expensive surgery. |
Time to squeeze those anal glands. |
I don't think her glands are infected - it's been stinky on and off for a while. Could pumpkin help her express them naturally? She has her annual wellness check in a month, and I'll talk it over with them then - but I don't think it's urgent. |
keep her butt out of your face. its the only answer. |
