What are signs your workplace is up for sale?

My thoughts are if the owner suddenly starts to do cosmetic work in an office which really has some structural (plumbing etc) needs, I should be on guard

Asking for any files or records that might indicate audit/due diligence, such as a paper trail for specific purchases or sales.

Also depends how big the company is.

Others might be decisions grind to a halt unexpectedly or uncharacteristically.
If execs/owners previously had their calendar viewable and now have it private or lots more private meetings than previously.
