When you have playdates and the parent does not promptly come at pickup time, do you mind? |
Yes. I usually pick up and drop off, because I absolutely hate being stuck with a child because their parents won’t pick them up. |
No, because in my 16 years of doing this, no parent has been very late more than once. Recently we missed a private music lesson scheduled after the playdate, because a parent had a work thing that ran way over, but they were very apologetic, and I like them too much to be annoyed
If they're just a few minutes late, that's fine, of course. |
OP here, nm, actually they came on time but the moms chatted with each other in front of our home for 15 mins. |
Sad |
If it's 15 minutes, that's fine. Any more than that and I'm annoyed. |
Just take their kid with you. |
I mind. It’s disrespectful to have a set pick up time and not adhere to it. |
Yes. They don’t get invited back |
Usually, we're exchanging texts during the play date so I know if they are running late for some reason, but it wouldn't be a big deal if they were. If there is some specific "hard stop" due to someplace someone has to be, that's all part of the communication. |
Confucius say 2 hour |
Send the kids outside. |
No parent has ever been more than 15 minutes late. |
Yes I mind. It’s rude.
|
Yeah this is really rude. I had someone pick their kid up 30 mins late from a drop off party once. Miserable. |
