I bought a black dress for a cocktail party. It has white piping at the neck and the edges of the cap sleeves.
Does it need a pendant or is the piping enough? |
I think a necklace would probably conflict with the piping. What is the neckline shape - scoop, v, high, low,...? |
Can you link the dress? |
This why God made pearls. |
Agreed. A brooch or statement earrings would be better unless it’s a low neckline (but probably even then). |
Great idea—thanks for the suggestion https://www.macys.com/shop/product/tommy-hilfiger-womens-mini-quilted-jacquard-flutter-sleeve-dress?ID=15904723 |
You do not want to pair a necklace with that neckline. Big earrings if you must. Perhaps a bracelet or stack. But not a necklace. I'm not saying you absolutely can't pair a necklace with that dress, but it is a style challenge for sure and if you are here asking for advice I'm guessing your styling skills are not advanced. |
The headline on this post was meant to have a question mark, not an exclamation point. I also questioned whether any necklace would work (it seems to fight the piping/sleeves). |
No need to throw digs in if your intention is to be helpful. |
No the piping takes the place of a necklace. Pick either minamalist pearl or really bright statement earrings. |
ZZ Top would recommend a pearl necklace. Goes with anything. |
Cute dress. Earrings and cute shoes are enough. |

It wasn't a dig? |
