Necklace needed!

Anonymous
I bought a black dress for a cocktail party. It has white piping at the neck and the edges of the cap sleeves.

Does it need a pendant or is the piping enough?

I think a necklace would probably conflict with the piping. What is the neckline shape - scoop, v, high, low,...?

Can you link the dress?

This why God made pearls.

Agreed. A brooch or statement earrings would be better unless it’s a low neckline (but probably even then).

You do not want to pair a necklace with that neckline. Big earrings if you must. Perhaps a bracelet or stack. But not a necklace.

I'm not saying you absolutely can't pair a necklace with that dress, but it is a style challenge for sure and if you are here asking for advice I'm guessing your styling skills are not advanced.

The headline on this post was meant to have a question mark, not an exclamation point. I also questioned whether any necklace would work (it seems to fight the piping/sleeves).

No need to throw digs in if your intention is to be helpful.

No the piping takes the place of a necklace. Pick either minamalist pearl or really bright statement earrings.

ZZ Top would recommend a pearl necklace. Goes with anything.

Cute dress. Earrings and cute shoes are enough.
