Friends coming to visit from Boston and staying at Capital Hill Hotel.
We live in Montgomery County and not familiar with Capital Hill restaurants? Steakhouse preferred because two follow particular diet needing protein choice, ample vegetables, salad and rice/potato. So not Italian with only pasta or foodie type place with tiny portions. But open to other options with a good selection. |
Capitol Hill |
Oops. |
This sounds...like a pretty typical American plate of food... |
Yes but “new American” type places often have TINY portions and Italian often have only pasta as starch option. |
It’s kind of old school, but we are never disappointed with the food at Bistro Cacao. And you’ll definitely get meat and veg. |
Charlie Palmer? Or if you want a more local pub atmosphere, Tunnicliffs.
Are you planning to drive, metro or walk? More options if you are willing to go to Union Market (St Anselms) or downtown where there are many steakhouses. Old Ebbit could be fun! |
If you have to stay on the Hill and it has to be a steakhouse, then Charlie Palmer. |
You could also go to the Monocle. |
Second this— it’s French-ish American food with ample portions. And it’s a lovely dining space with really nice staff. |
