I was with a friend and she took me to a woman’s house in a fancy neighborhood where she was selling many different types of counterfeit bags. The quality was stunningly good. What an eye opening experience. The woman is so blasé like no concern at all she’ll be caught. There were lots of other ladies there. On some random Thursday. Who knew? |
I recommend the novel Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen. |
Canal Street is the full experience |
Fascinating! What were the prices like? |
Seconded! |
It's not a big deal. |
So ignorant. |
I’ve always wondered how many of the designer stuff around me is actually fake. DHGate is replete with knockoffs of so many things. At this point, any LV, Chanel, YSL bag just looks like a knockoff. Makes me not want to wear anything that folks could possibly think is fake….

My friend does this in New Jersey also. She gets them from Saudi Arabia. |
Yes, my sister has friends who import from Hong Kong and New Delhi. |
What zip code OP?
Can’t say I’m surprised. A savvy buyer can get high end fakes. |
How do you find out about these parties?
I know in NYC, there are shady shops that sell these knock offs on Canal Street in Chinatown. Is this in Potomac or Bethesda? |
Thirding |
Fakes are crazy realistic now since they come from the same factory the designers use. A bag that cost thousands will just be hundreds. |
What I want is a nice “fake” bag but that’s unbranded, like just a plain design and not a copy of a “designer” one. |
