Just took my first Zepbound dose - it's like the first time I smoked pot

I keep on being like wait, am I hungry? Yeah. Wait, what was that, am I hungry?

Sub hungry for high and I feel like I'm in high school again waiting for this much anticipated experience to kick in.

My sad and his dad died of diabetes at 64. I had GD in pregnancy. I am insulin resistant. I've been battling weight my whole life and have run marathons and triathlons and been vegetarian, keto, weigh watchers - starting with Jenny Craig in 6th grade.

I know this isn't a miracle drug and I still need to move and focus on nutrition and if something can finally help counter my genetic predisposition to obesity I would be forever grateful.

Good luck!

Give yourself at least two months for it to kick in. Most likely it’ll be a lot sooner than that.

Your post makes little sense. Are you high?

LOL that's what I'm trying to decide!

I wish I was. No. I'm just sitting here waiting for a feeling to kick in but I think it takes time.

NP and from reading your post, Op, I think the high kicked in already and you just don’t realize it

OP, same situation here. I took my first dose 5 days ago and haven't felt any reduced food craving, at all - though I am still eating healthy. Hoping that I will after the next dose. But also thinking maybe I won't until my doctor increases me to the next level dosage 5.0mg. I've been told it can take a few weeks and that many need a higher dosage. Good luck.

Serious question: Are you comparing the experience of waiting for your zepbound to kick in to the experience of waiting for an edible or somesuch to kick in?

Or does Zepbound actually make you feel high? If the latter, was that clearly disclosed by your prescribing doc?

I'm on my 5th shot and I haven't felt what you are describing but I have been nauseated like crazy.

NP. Took my first dose last night. Woke up at 1am a little nauseated. A little again when I woke up at 6. Drank a gatorade zero and felt way better. Caf at lunch featured my favorite lunch today. Bought it and just ate half without realizing it. I would NEVER not finish it. Here's to hoping...

OP here. I think my joke failed. If you've ever smoked pot, I feel like the first time you try it you spend the first hour just asking yourself if you're high. Like you hear a noise and you're like wait, is that real or am I high? You've built up this experience, you have no idea what "high" feels like until you. I was channeling my 14 year old self, 30 years later.

I was comparing that anticipation to taking Zepbound for the first time. Everyone says it removes food noise but I don't really know what that is or what's it like for it to be gone so last night I was constantly checking myself like wait, is that food noise? Is my food noise gone?

Anyways, bad joke.

On a serious note I do think it's helped today. It's subtle but seems the starving mode that would make me shove quick snacks in my face is gone. I didn't eat my kids dinner leftovers mindlessly. I didn't question seconds. Maybe placebo effect day 1 but rolling with it.

The effect gets stronger as time goes on and as you increase dosage. I felt more effecr from the first shot on the second or third day. Then towards the end of the.week, the effect wears off. The next higher dosage will affect you more strongly and that continues as you increase it.
