When logging things like rice or pasta, when it doesn’t specify, should I assume it’s the measurement of cooked or dry? For example:
Rice, Basmati, 1/2 cup, 320 cal Is that a 1/2 cup cooked? Also, what about when the measurement is dry, but you’re eating it cooked? How do you make the dry to cooked conversion? I cook the whole box because family! Example: Pasta, Penne, .5 cup cooked, 210 cal |
It’s typically cooked |
Usually cooked (except pasta), but 1/2 cup of rice is not 320 calories (it's more like 100 calories). A cup of cooked pasta is about 200 calories. |
I try to find entries where cooked or not cooked are specified. 1/2 c of cooked rice is not 320 calories that is uncooked.
If something seems off/really high I google it. |
