The admissions cycle is over now, isn't it? The 8th grade class is big. Where are you coming from? What profile? Private pay?

Coming from public, Montgomery County.

I'm a parent of an 8th grader there. What I've heard from HS parents is that the administration is better, the transition teacher not so much. If you have a kid with borderline IQ/LDs, executive function needs it's probably the right place for you. There are fewer kids on the spectrum there. You also see kids with physical disabilities. Have you already been to CIEP? Are you comparing to a high school learning center? What I like about it is that there is a critical mass of kids and it feels like a real school instead of feeling like an appendage on a typical school.

Comparing to regular mainstream public school classes at a W school.

No. Not a fit at all. If your kid can do typical high school homework then KTS is not for you. There are some diploma track kids--not sure of the percentage--but I don't see it.

I will have a diploma track student.

Is the educational rigor similar to a learning center or do kids who are capable of more demanding work(e.g.,English and history)get it if requested?
