How hard is it to make a team at Visitation? Which teams are easier to make?

Wondering if all teams are super competitive?

Tough to make varsity -- 500 girls with high percentage of good athletes playing high level club/travel outside of school.

Ok, but the athletic director said there was a no cut sport every season. Are there any sports that are fun and not elite-level?

What about jv and freshman teams?

Does your DD have experience playing any sports or is just thinking about starting/trying something new in HS?

Try crew. No experience needed.

Soccer and volleyball are competitive.

Yes, there are no-cut sports every season. Cross country, winter and spring track. Crew may also be no cut.

I believe there is only one freshman team (basketball).

Forget Lax + FH if your kid has no experience. Have your kid go to summer camp before HS for any given sport. Mine went to AU, UMD, and Georgetown for various sports. Did DI Ivy as coll recruit. Started FH at age 6 for travel team in PA, lax at age 12 for travel team and crew camp, age 12.

I know a couple of girls who thought they were going to make the JV team for basketball and soccer and sadly they were cut. It's brutal, and they keep a very small roster.

Curious about tennis and golf too. Does Visi have a golf team? How many girls are on the tennis team?

Kinda late in the game to be asking these questions! Should have asked during admissions.

I agree we're late the game to be asking about sports now, but our first focus was on the academics and overall feel for the school. Now trying to figure out if a sports team is a possible opportunity for our daughter to get involved at the school. Thanks all for your input. Seems like Visi's sports are just as competitive as their academics!

Surprised to hear there is only one freshman team, (and basketball is DD's least favorite sport).
