Company that can put in bamboo barrier

Anyone have a company that can install a bamboo rhizome barrier? Curious about costs too. Ty.

Don’t do it. They are invasive and next to impossible to remove by anyone. I honestly wouldn’t buy your house if there was bamboo there.

Why in the world would you voluntarily put that invasive plant that’s impossible to eradicate in your yard? And it will spread beyond your property line and also be a headache for your neighbors.

+1. I am watching people next door trying to remove their bamboo. It is almost comical. People further down the street fenced 11 acres with bamboo. I think the quote was 100k to remove it.

I’m assuming OP either already has bamboo or it’s coming from a neighboring property, not that she’s going to plant it!

Ohh! You mean OP wants to install a barrier that stops the spread of bamboo! Now I get it! (NP).

Yes, trying to stop the spread not plant it. It was planted in the 70s I think.

We bought our house 15 years ago. There was bamboo at the corner of the yard and woods and I haven’t figured out how to get rid of it. I just keep cutting it down, but it is now popping up in the yard and flower bed. It’s creeping onto the neighbor’s yard so it’s probably now in violation of Fairfax County’s running bamboo law.

Evidently the secret is to let them exhaust themselves by growing the full cane and the branches but whack them down before they leaf out. And it will take several years but you can weaken and kill it. (I do not have and never have had bamboo but from what I’ve read this seems maybe a little optimistic, though it makes sense).

Bamboo is illegal to plant new in NoVa and MoCo. Report anyone who plants it and get them fined out the wazoo.

Nightmare plant that doesn't belong and shouldn't be sold anywhere.

+1 this.

I passed over a few homes in NOVA with bamboo in the backyard. It literally may reduce your home value as it adds to potential headaches and legal ramifications for new owners who assume responsibility of it.
