Are women drinking more?

Ok I am concerned. I am 47 and DW is 40. I don't drink at all maybe had a glass of wine when I was 22. It's just not my thing. DW and her group of friends used to drink here and there. But now they drink on Thursday Friday and Saturday every week and they get drunk every single time. To the people who drink is that excessive? I brought the issue to DW but she said I was trying to prevent her from having fun with her friends. I feel like drinking once a week is totally normal but 3 times...

| That's a good question. Now I am 68 and I am definitely seeing more women in bars than I used to. Now does that mean they are drinking more? I don't know I just see more of them. |

| Unfortunately more women are drinking, weeding, vaping and using drugs and all of these are lot worse for female bodies, fertility and child development. |

i dont think drinking per se is weird at all (granted i am from europe where it's a part of our culture in a much more fundamental but less extreme way than america). I drink wine and cocktails frequently but i never get 'drunk'. I think getting 'drunk' in your 40s on a frequent basis is weird. My feeling after the amount I drink is a little bit more relaxed, never ever 'drunk'.
I guess it depends how you define 'drunk' op? is she visibly impaired and acting odd or has she had a glass of wine and acting normal and you just think it's odd in theory? If the former then yes it's concerning. if the second then sounds like you are just two extreme ends of the drinking spectrum. |

Women want to get together with friend and socialize because their H ‘s don’t care to.
Also women can’t go do healthy stuff together, it has to involve the kids because no h is going to watch his own kids 3 days a week. So women get together, the kids play together (which is much needed break for women since their H ‘s can’t help in this area) and they drink wine. 3 glasses of wine over 4 hours… sure they get buzzed. |
