It's really simple, OP. Use the blue masking tape to frame the area that you are painting. This will take a loot of time. After that, you are on a roll

DP. What about complicated things, though? Like ceilings in a high stairwell? If you have a whole house to paint it can get more complicated that just doing the taping (ugh the tape takes so much patience).

Home RenoVision DIY youtube channel is pretty good. He has painting videos and a lot of other stuff. I'm going to try my hand at hanging a door after watching his videos.

Closets and room walls are easy enough. Ceilings, stairwell, foyer are tough. I have seen people on IG use scaffolds that they stand on to paint a ceiling and anything high. Expensive though. You can probably rent those.
