| If MLS goes to SY, clubs will utilize the 3 biobanding players rule to send 3 Q3/Q4 players down to build the SY team in 25/26. |
My guess is ECNL will just modify its 25/26 rule book to have those exceptions, possibly similar to MLS biobanding, so the clubs can start the transition within the club. |
| I will Venmo all of you $100 if ECNL makes any concessions or exceptions in 25/26 |
MLS and GA should price is right this and have a 8-1 or 7-1 cutoff. |
You are just a troll. |
Yup, MLS delaying SY was about getting a jump on ECNL ecosystem. ECNL got punked and haven't tried anything to maintain market share. |
You have a future in corporate take overs. |
“If” sounds like they decided that they will… |
McLean, a MLS club, already sent an email about SY change and all their teams will align. |
| Listen. Call me a troll all you want. Our ECNL director is on board as, in the decision rooms and he says no one has said a single word about ECNL making concessions for trapped players beyond the 8th/11th grade concessions for 25/26. I have a trapped players and want it as much as everyone else. It’s not happening. |

One thing is very clear from the podcast ECNL and MLSN are at war.
ECNL is terrified that good players who dont like coach decisions will bail mid season for MLSN or MLSN2... ECNL liked its monopoly in many parts of the country and thats over. It sounds like they want one set of rules so that pissed off players can't just bail for the other league in the same neighborhood. I find this hillarious given the ECNL clubs track record taking players from clubs that they wouldnt let join ECNL. They have a mexican standoff going on: whos going to announce rules first because the other league will do somthing to one up them. |
To be honest who really cares. If they do they do if they don’t they don’t. I think people just want them to come out and say what their plan is one way or the other. Even if that’s we aren’t changing anything business as usual. |
There’s nothing stoping players from leaving ECNL for GA/ECNL for MLSN mid season. Same thing if they want to go from MLSN to ECNL. |
The ECNL director at my club who is a friend of mine showed me and email he sent to the ECNL commissioner when all of this was a rumor early this fall. The commissioner told him he didn’t know anything about any age group changes. So either they are just liars or they really don’t know anything until they are hit in the mouth with it. |
| ECNL guys were basically arguing that clubs matter more than leagues in their pitch to keep clubs from going MLSN. Wonder if they think the same thing about the girls side? Find a good club is what matters. Leagues only do a small fraction of the work. |
