Water, fire, air, dirt

F***ing magnets, how do they work?

I think he meant to talk about rare earths. Insert rare earths anytime he says magnets, and it makes more sense. And yes, he's senile and shouldn't be making those mistakes.

Every 80 year old person experiences cognitive decline to varying degrees. This is old news. We saw it with Biden, we're seeing it with Trump. If we're stupid enough to elect another 80 year old POTUS, we'll see this again.

Well, my 86-year-old dad may not be as quick as when he was 36 but he is a hell of a lot sharper than Trump.

I don't doubt this at all but trust me when I say no 80+ year old human can be trusted with keeping up with the mental and physical demands of the POTUS position 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is just basic common sense that hundreds of millions of American voters apparently lack. Do better people.

Agree with both posters 100% - my 86 year old Dad and I have had this conversation. Me: Damn Dad, your doing pretty well for your age, huh. Much better than Trump. Dad: I might be, but I sure as hell wouldn't want that job.

Seriously, my Dad's days are spent at home doing crossword puzzles, bugging my Mom and watching Law & Order reruns. Not leading the what is still the most powerful country in the world.

Oh yeah, and I agree with the other poster that said that Miller & Voight are in charge - they trot out DJT when he's needed.

Everytkme he has one of these rambles, I am sure there is a kernel or more of truth in them. Someone has told him something and he understood a small oortion of it and is garbling it all when conveying it. Sort of like if I tried to explain what that quantum whatever machine in Switzerland does. It’s always kind of a game to try to figure out what portion is true. Is there really some issue with magnet production and China? Does it really take years to build a magnet factory? Now I’m off to google these things.

Here’s another good example of this theory.

https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/trump-demands-call-in-the-troops-to-protect-chicago-shopping-center-that-doesnt-exist/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQKNjYyODU2ODM3OQABHvLbuRCKRuObRwpNYKBYm6DbYM_SpqQaTwHRZOC44jQsFigXw4rKjYFcRqPZ_aem_mgcMPPPV_BwseFFRErc1OA#mhvaj24v5jvau5dldac

There’s a kernel of truth buried in the nonsense, like when you have a crazy dream but can connect it to something that happened in teal life.

Rare earth alloys make magnets much more powerful that those using ferrous materials. But they aren't a mystery anymore than physics works in mysterious--but observable and measurable--ways.

But the fact that anyone needs to spend time parsing what Trump is talking about is a sad indictment of our republic.

We find ourselves spending 50% of our time saying "what the f did he say" when he comes out with some incoherent BS, and the other 50% of our time saying "I can't believe he f'ing said that" when he says some new obnoxious or stupid thing.

One symptom of dementia is disinhibition and a loss of one’s filter.

He'll be leaning into that now.

On what authority do you say this?
My grandmother died at 99, and she was smarter than anyone I know. She never lost her intellect, her wit, her extraordinary perspicacity, her love of reading (when she couldn't read after her eyesight deteriorated, she listened to books). "Every 80 year old" is a bit of an exaggeration. Yes, Trump and Biden have dementia, but please don't paint all older people with that tainted brush.
