Jolie herself said the abusive behavior toward the children was a one-time incident and she immediately left him. He was an alcoholic who then got sober. In what universe does that merit his being cut off from the kids? And I highly doubt he was going around telling tabs Shiloh was going to move in with him when she clearly wasn't.

No-one is skipping over "the abuse" and there is no evidence of "constant lying." So be specific--why does he deserve to have no relationship with his kids?

This in bold. I highly doubt Pitt's camp was responsible for those stories. They're not that dumb.

I suspect Jolie put those stories out herself so that it would make the name change more damaging.

I mean, an 18 year old should be hanging out with friends and getting ready for college…not changing their name and fixating on hip hop/modern dance (which is a hobby, not a career).

I read an article recently which extensively quoted Jolie's former nanny. If all those things said were true, she had a traumatic childhood. Nanny said that Jolie's mom couldn't bear to look at Jolie because she looked so much like Voight, who had cheated on her/left her for a younger woman. She and James lived in a nice apartment, but her mom sequestered Jolie in a separate apartment upstairs, everything was completely white, walls and carpet, and was cared for by a revolving set of nannies throughout the day. And, of course, she also turned them both against their father. Again, if true, it's all really messed up.

Jolie is damaged goods. Sadly, she’s passed all of her trauma and dysfunction on to her children. She created the same broken family her mom did.

It seems as if Brad wants a relationship with his children, but I think it’s a lost cause at this point. Jolie did what her mother did to her. She spent years poisoning the children’s minds and turning them against Brad. He married and had children with a crazy woman and it has destroyed his life. I read that he is thinking of having more children with his girlfriend, Ines. I think that may be his only option now if he wants to have children who he can have a relationship with. She seems like a normal woman, not a crazy lunatic like Jolie who would use the children as weapons against him.

Why not? His kids seemingly hate him and want nothing to do with him. He has every right to create another family where he can have children who want him in their lives.

And i wonder why. Kids aren't replaceable.

Unfortunately for a lot of men, they are. And tragic women think things would be different with the second set of children, and then he moves on to his third set of children.

Different from previous poster, but Pax's post made it very clear that all the kids feel the same way. They all grew up with each other. They don't separate each other as adopted or not. Thinking they would have a different opinion was just wishful thinking.

I never thought about that - Jolie could very well be responsible for planting the stories about Shiloh moving in with Brad. She could have used the planted stories to convince Shiloh that Brad was using her for PR in order to get Shiloh to go along with the legal name change. Jolie is crazy, but I think she is very smart when it comes to public relations and manipulating people. She used the stories to convince Shiloh to file the legal name change papers she had prepared for her.

I wonder why Jolie hasn’t convinced the other adult children to legally change their names? I think because she knew Shiloh changing her name would hurt Brad the most because she was his first biological child and her birth was so celebrated. I think it’s just a matter of time until she has all the children legally change their last names.
