Ivy Day was brutal.

Hug those aspirational kids. If you choose private for the Ivy chance, you aren’t looking at the outcome holistically.

Read their last essay, consider all those opportunities they had to grow into what you see now. They will all fly out of your nest … and as parents our job is to be the one place we say yes you can when the world says no.

What is Ivy day? Like Ivy acceptance/rejection day?

Agreed, they will all be ok not going to one historic sports league group of schools, and anyone pinning their hopes that private guarantees entry need to be aware that it only slightly gives them an edge in a dense pack, it definitely doesn't separate them ahead of the pack, but I don't think that should discount the quality of education they did receive...
