Arlington School Board Elections - Who are you voting for?

Just came back from voting. Voted for Symone because despite her super annoying personality, she is the only one that actually cares about improving the curriculum. Everyone else talks about touchy feely stuff that doesn't matter.

Ditto. Obnoxious on FB, fake-martyr stuff notwithstanding, she's the only one talking about the stuff that actually gets taught and how. Especially reading.

Yep! Me too. Ended up voted for Symone even though she is extremely combative. I am homeschooling my kindergartener because of covid so I don’t have much experience with APS. But the threads here on Calkins, reading, spelling and grammar are extremely worrying. She seems to be the only candidate who is talking about improving the reading curriculum.

Exactly the same reasoning for me too

I voted for CDT and DP (couldn't get past SW's behaviors), but part of me hopes she makes it on. Would love to see her try to restrain herself in meetings and on AEM and how she handles the fact that the SB has relatively little influence over the things she's complaining about. Most of those things are decided at the state level, the county level or by the superintendent. Could be very entertaining.
