They practice currently at Soccerplex Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday practice was at Gunners Park LP and is now at Dufief ES gym. No practices currently at Stone Ridge....but they were there last spring.

They have doubled their numbers for their younger academy group.

They have a 2012 girls team in SAM Select.
They have a 2012 boys team in SAM Select.
They have a 2010 girls team in SAM Select.
These team's are mixed aged.

Their 2009 team is in EDP South Atlantic III Blue. Finished third place for the Fall season.

Their 2007 team won WAGS flight and Bethesda Premier Cup flight. They also won their flight at visit Raleigh College Showcase.

Their 2004 team has had a middling Fall campaign.

There are 4 coaches. Three of them rotate among the younger groups. One of them only works with the older groups. All groups practice on the same days.

Technically speaking, they are fantastic. Game play teaching is relatively non-existent until you get to the older groupings. They play out of the back and the goalie gets the ball a lot. It can lead to mistakes and goals against. They do not like to punt it out but it does happen. If you believe in the system, it will take a couple years to get there...as you see with the 07s. They also say that results don't matter but that's a hard pill to swallow some days.

Don't know enough about the 08 situation but it was a late decision to dump the team and one it seems they regret.

The 09 team is made up of one 11, five 10's, and the rest 09s. It's a similar make up at most of the teams as player's are asked to play up on many occasions. Not sure if that is good or bad tbh.

Overall, it's a solid place. Again, it may or may not be a fit depending on what you are looking for. The disciplined approach is great but some other things are lacking. Similar to most places so results will vary.

accurate except I think it was 05 team who won in Raleigh. Definitely not 07 team. 05 06 and definitely 07 teams are good. 07 team is very strong.

This is very helpful and sound great. You mentioned results not mattering to the club. Does this mean that all players get equal playing time?

Equal playing time is a mis-conception.
Some play more, some play less. You will never have equal playing time.
Rosters, games, coaches are all variables in that decision.
And every team, coach, system has their favorites and not-so-much favorites.

I think what you are looking for is to maximize your player's time on the field with the development of your player in equal doses.
And that is a very relative term.

Not quite an accurate statement. Results do matter but not at the expense of development. FCGB will not sacrifice development just to win a game. Coaches can easily make a few adjustments and play a certain way and show better results but they want the players to play the right way.

Tell that to the girls that didn’t play a single minute in the last tournament. Team played to win. Results matter more than development.

Disagree - Their favorite players from younger teams get to "develop" on the older teams as the older girls sit on the bench. So they totally sacrifice development of some for development of others.

Not true. they recognize ceilings on kids very well. They do a great job of developing actual talent rather than picking the biggest or fastest at younger ages who inevitable get caught when they stop growing. FCGB is limited though by not being ECNL. It is what it is. Older kids that sit on the bench sit on the bench for a reason.

Heard from a parent that fcgb is merging with another club and joining ecnl. Any truth to this? Thanks.
