Why are all of you so cruel to short men?

I'm a 5' 3" woman, and I don't particularly care about how tall a guy is. When I was dating on-line, I was asked out by a number of short guys. Some were even shorter than I was, and several lied about their height. Lying I generally regarded as a deal-breaker, but I didn't really mind that much if guy lied about his height, since it would be obvious the second we met, unlike lies about age, education and interests.
That said, most of these guys didn't make it past the second date. They had been treated so badly that they were really bitter and negative. Short isn't a problem, but I won't sit across the table from a litany of complaint for the rest of my life. |

Yep, this thread proves that we short guys face a tough crowd when it comes to relationships. I'm 5'6 and while I spent many a night in junior high praying for a growth spurt, I learned to play my position.
I'm funny, I know how to talk to women and I exude confidence. Most of all, I'm sincere. I was never looking to win the public opinion of the 5'7 and over crowd. I stuck with the ones in my "height bracket" and it worked out pretty well. I think that because the partner-pool is so much smaller that the valuation of each woman rises for us "shorties." |

Why'd you resurrect an old thread just to say this. I'm a short women (5'), and don't have a problem with men who are on the short side. What matters is that their nice. Most guys are jerks, especially tall handsome ones. The same could be said for women who are short though, many men want 5'6 skinny girls. Not women who are 5' and look young (I'm in my mid 20s but people tend to think I'm 17-19)

| Short guys make up for their shortcomings by being funny and charming and ambitious. I've found the best combination to be shorty Jewish or Asian guys. Heaven! |

| I am a lawyer practicing in a complex field and I have informally found that my taller opponents, in virtually evey case are not as smart as the shorter/average height lawyers and generally less attractive. Just an observation. Anyone else notice this or am I only mis-remembering? |

I married a 5'6" black guy and he's as blessed as your average NFL player (if we're going by those height stats).
