Switching gears, how is FVU going to do in SC this weekend? The rising u13 team rising to the top of sinking to the bottom?

This is not true FVU holds the charter. They are their own entity. When FVU was formed McLean and BRYC were stripped of their ECNL charters. BRYC only holds an RL charter as does Vienna. FVU is its own entity with is own board and tax filings. Don't post misinformation please. Families deserve to know the truth

On the girls side, the 2012s just won the mid-Atlantic after beating Arlington and the 2013s went undefeated and won the mid Atlantic.

FVU is definitely not losing ECNL.

Can 2012 style of play win at U15 and older like it has at U13 and U14?

In the spring in high school yes. And with a clinical forward and wingers, sure it can work -- you just need 2-3 chances a game to win. But I have to imagine eventually it won't work. The better teams will have the defensive speed to neutralize that style of play. For the U14s though, job well done. They have to win to get into the bigger recruiting showcases and they did it. But the bigger colleges will see right through the players on the team that are nowhere near that caliber of play. No amount of how hard and long some of the booters can boot the ball will impress the scouts. It will impress their HS coaches, though, and they'll make varsity as freshmen. Clap clap clap. But in reality in a few years it will be a slew of low-level college commitments or lack of offers and I'll giggle when I see how many of those will be a tier below what some of the RL kids will be garnering.

Sometimes kickball works! Congrats!

Different ECNL conference and kickball works more often than not especially with 2 closely matched teams. It's why the coaches do it

No, I don’t think so. It’s still money for ECNL at the end of the day and they’ve lasted this long with no accountability. They have a monopoly in Fairfax and will continue to exist until another ECNL club pops up.

thats not how it works. ECNL has standard of play. The club when formed was forced because of how bad VA Union and Brave were. The club has gotten worse. I give them 1 year.

By the end of the season next year, people will realize how much FVU has fallen off.

The Boys have already fallen off (they were never really on) and the girls are headed straight for the cliff with no guardrails in sight

I know the girls by name. There quite a few ballers there. So happy for them.
