Haaretz: Israeli Prime Minister After Six-Day War: 'We'll Deprive Gaza of Water, and the Arabs Will Leave'

“Empty” the Gaza Strip, “thin out” the Galilee, rewrite textbooks and censor political cartoons in Haaretz: These are among the proposals discussed by cabinet ministers after the Six-Day War .

In December 1967, six months after the war, then-Prime Minister Levi Eshkol speculated over how to deal with the hundreds of thousands of Arabs newly under the state’s control. “At some point we will have to decide. There are 600,000 Arabs in these territories now. What will be the status of these 600,000 Arabs?” he asked.

One of the “solutions” to the new situation, according to Eshkol, was to encourage Arabs to emigrate. In this context, Eshkol told ministers he was “working on the establishment of a unit or office that will engage in encouraging Arab emigration.”

He added, “We should deal with this issue quietly, calmly and covertly, and we should work on finding a way for them to emigrate to other countries and not just over the Jordan [River].”

Eshkol expressed the hope that, “precisely because of the suffocation and imprisonment there, maybe the Arabs will move from the Gaza Strip,” adding there were ways to remove those who remained. “Perhaps if we don’t give them enough water they won’t have a choice, because the orchards will yellow and wither,” he said in this context. Another “solution,” he said, could be another war. “Perhaps we can expect another war and then this problem will be solved. But that’s a type of ‘luxury,’ an unexpected solution.”

Within the inconclusive discussions of the future of the territories are the seeds of talk of establishing settlements, outposts and army bases.

That is not genocide. It is ethnic cleansing, and not the usual trail of tears kind.
Prior to the Six Day War, these Arab countries announced they were eliminating the Jew from the face of the earth.

When toothless, beaten-down people threaten to fight back, you immoral weirdo, the appropriate response is not to “massacre them first”. But sadly, that’s the precise mentality we see on display from Israel and in the Jewish holy texts. Not only that, but it has gone an even more grotesque step forward with “preemptive self-defense” for thought crimes - better safe than sorry, right?

Enough is enough. The rest of us have had enough of this diseased mentality.

Your post is stunningly racist against Arabs/Persians. They are not toothless dregs. They are sophisticated societies, even if we regard their values as regressive, and they come from cultures and in some cases nations that have far, far longer history than western civilization. And in the case of Hamas, they want to destroy western civilization. And you're telling me that the "not racist" reaction is to ignore the "beaten down, toothless people" because they can't actually cause any harm? There wouldnt be a western civilization right now if our ancestors had taken that approach.

There are a lot of sickos on this site. I'll bet money this "activist" has never even met an Israeli, read a non-biased book about, or visited Israel. The hubris to even say such a thing. And I'm sure he/she as would many of you, would be the first on line to deny the rapes of October 7th. Honestly, divine justice would make you the victim of such a grotesque attack and for your family to bear the brunt of a campaign of denial led by useful idiots who think they are doing something righteous. You make me want to vomit.

The same sentiment, directed at Palestinians, would be as valid. Name-calling convinces nobody; actions say it all.

Oct 7. End of story.

Yes, yes, look at those terrible Palestinians committing their acts of disproportional vengeance!

<checks notes>

1 innocent, non-combatant Israeli killed for every 74 innocent, non-combatant Palestinian killed in the past two years.

And 1 innocent, non-combatant Zionist / Israeli killed for every 39 innocent, non-combatant Palestinian killed in the past 80 years.

Boy, those Palestinians sure are working some disproportional magic there in your mind, I suppose! Actions DO say it all.

They do, and there have been endless acts of Palestinian terror since 1948, Oct 7 is only the most recent especially egregious. The Palestinians have unclean hands, and no moral foundation for using terror as a mechanism for attempting, no matter how consistently ineffectively, grievances over mere land. Grievances which many consider without foundation anyway, based on dubious claims without legal support.

Palestinian terrorists, and those who raised and support them, have consistently gotten what they have asked for. Too bad for them that what they "asked for" was impressive retaliation, not the sought-after gift of real estate.

A lot of babbling, but this caught my eye: what’s more dubious than claiming biological connection to a land you’re committing genocide on when 75% of your population couldn’t demonstrate evidence of a biological connection to the land if their life depended on it?

Who said anything about biological connections to land? That's nonsensical.

The post you quoted is just pointing out the obvious - Palestinians repeatedly engage in terror, trying to "justify" it as an appropriate and helpful response to losing out on claims to real estate, claims which rest on dubious foundations. And, every time, they lose lives and often more real estate. Then they try again. And lose again. Perplexing.

Not Breaking News: Desperation

What a bunch of fkn clowns. As MTG talks about how the "MIGA" movement (yes I, not A) infiltrated American Politics, Israel is suddenly "America First" when everyone in that movement is against funding genocide and foreign aid to ingrates. And Trump has seemingly declared civil war on the America First movement.

Hmm let's talk about an existing agreement that runs until 2028. Why negotiate and beg now, in 2025, Israel? Oh, could that be the next presidential election campaign year? And why an agreement for for 20 years instead of 10? Oh, because your clock is counting down in America. Tick tick.

Israel knows the free ride's almost over.

And this agreement will support a genocidal welfare ethnostate until the year 2048. 2048!!!

Here's what AI had to say about the lowball figure of $20B per year:

"Investing $20 billion per year in the stock market with an average annual return of around 6% compounded over 20 years could potentially grow to approximately $1.1 trillion, depending on the specific returns and compounding frequency. This calculation assumes consistent contributions and reinvestment of returns throughout the investment period."

Axios: Israel seeks 20-year military aid deal with U.S. with "America First" tweaks

Israel is seeking a new 20-year security agreement with the U.S. — doubling the usual term and adding "America First" provisions to win the Trump administration's support, Israeli and U.S. officials tell Axios.

The current 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed in 2016 under Barack Obama, expires in 2028. Israel wants to conclude the new deal over the next year.

There have been three 10-year framework agreements for long-term security assistance to Israel, in 1998 ($21.3 billion), 2008 ($32 billion) and 2016 ($38 billion).

Who TF cares what this Administration agrees to? Precedent has been set that nothing is sacred, so when sanity prevails (probably not for a couple more administrations, unfortunately), any 20-year deal agreed to know that has 12 years remaining can be disposed of where it belongs: in the trash.

What is this talk about 20 year deal for the Israeli military?
Does this mean that peace talks are temporary and the conflict is eternal?
Or does it mean that peace is bad for Israel because they will have to fund their own military?

IDF loves raping their hostages and prisoners. Doesn't matter if they're children or not. In fact, there have been riots and protests for their right to do so.

What’s telling is Hamas didn’t rape Israeli men or women or kids even during months of Gaza captivity.

Who really has the rape culture? Gaza has low crime rates even now with a war going on. Nobody’s stealing from each other and I see videos of kids feeding stray cats sardines and scraps of food they obtain. In any other part of the world, those stray cats would be the food.

Well of course not. Israel was dumb enough to make this a three state solution. They created 2 Palestinian states on either side of their country.

Israel is not smart at all and their weakness is thinking they are.

Hamas itself is merely a form of organized crime, extorting "taxes" without representation, "punishing" those it dislikes (i.e., murdering or close to it), and, of course, engaging in terror activities at every opportunity until again suppressed by force of arms.

Yet, there they are, and thriving in comparison to the lands occupied by Palestinians. Both receive foreign aid, but only one actually has benefitted from it by using it as intended, rather than building terror capabilities instead of a functional civil society.
