why did Kate go back to Hal at the end of the episode? the last I saw she had made a plea to her boyfriend asking for another chance, and it seemed like he was giving her one? even if he didn’t, she begged Hal for forgiveness and asked to be taken back, which seemed totally out of the blue.

I had the same question! It was bizarre that she went back to Hal all of a sudden when she had just pleaded her case to the boyfriend. And then to find out how badly Hal just burned her... yikes.

I just finished season three and didn’t want to start this thread until I had. I’m completely confused by this as well unless it’s just some sort of subterfuge and she’s not really going to stay with him. It was so abrupt, that it doesn’t fit at all with the rest of the season.

I like watching the faces of almost all of the actors in this show because they seem so expressive, almost as if the faces themselves are the characters.

Maybe she wants to have an open marriage?

There were two things that could have been the trigger. The conversation with Dennison when he said that her marriage inspired him to get remarried to a partner with whom he had a complicated past. Also we know that Kate had miscarriage/s so Dennison’s wife being pregnant could have triggered her.

The second thing was Hal and Kate being a perfect team in swaying the British PM to not give the Poseidon weapon to the Chinese. That made her reattach to Hal. of course THAT was a lie on Hal’s part so we will see.

I liked that scene where she says something like “pleasant to see you. Now get the f— out.” And he says “pleasant to f— you. I’ll see myself out.”
He’s very hot, and has a very sexy voice.

I don’t think so. She will go back to him because he is truthful to her and Hal is a manipulative liar to her.

I had no idea!

Years ago, I watched Man in the High Castle on Amazon where he starred as the chief American Nazi. He had a pretty convincing American accent there as well, and then there was a scene at the dinner table, and he didn’t switch his fork! Illusion shattered.

lol!! I am American and never switch my fork - a habit passed down from I’m British grandmother that remains, despite an evil stepmother later trying to stamp it out. I’m teaching it to my kid so that will be the 3rd American generation not to switch the fork.

LOL x 2! NP here. My parents are both eastern european and I never learned to switch my fork, and my adult kids don't either. We will take over the country with our non-fork switching one day, hopefully.

Finally finished watching the whole season. I'm surprised by all the hate for the Kate Wyland character. I thought she was magnificent. Yes, she was pushy sometimes and could be a little rude but I thought overall she was pretty freaking brilliant. The only time I questioned how they wrote her was when she had sex with Callum at the house. Very stupid move.

I'm an American who doesn't switch my fork, but everyone in my family eats that way. This isn't solely a British thing...

I noticed this too - the little wink of appreciation he gave her after she sold the PM on the plan. You could see how flushed and excited she was to be tag-teaming again with Hal. I personally can't stand his character, but obviously something about that dynamic keeps her coming back for more. I guess it was at that moment that she realized he was the only one for her.

I don't recall anyone expressing hate for Kate Wyland?
