Sally McCarthy? That's the best news I've heard. She's amazing!

I hope the MCEA really thinks hard about its apple ballot endorsements going forward.

Where can you find that paperwork?

MCEA owes the public an apology for putting up Natalie Zimmerman. She is an absolute waste of space.

The official list of candidates is here, at the bottom of the page:

Oh wow, Sally McCarthy is really smart. Her filing is really good news.

The fact that she's the best on the BOE says a lot about the BOE. I think Julie is going to have a hard time winning her council seat.

what a friggin joke. We found Julie's campaign manager posting. Everyone thinks she's horrendous.

Why do you think this? People seem to respect her.

Julie is the only BoE person I’ve ever met. She takes the time to come to school meetings/events. I would vote for her on that basis because the rest of the BoE are invisible to me

Huh, weird. I've never met her... meanwhile see Laura Stewart at things constantly. Maybe Julie only cares about showing up in certain parts of the county, despite being BOE president?

Julie only shows up if it can help her county council campaign.

I’ve seen Laura, never Julie at DCC schools.

Laura frequents Kennedy, Wheaton and Blair quite a bit. She is from the DCC too, so that doesn't ring true.

She’s at other schools too. Especially big events. Shes also more responsive to email. Julie never emails back. Not even an auto reply.

I emailed Julie once when there was an issue at my kid’s school where central office was holding up approvals the school needed that was affecting staffing. I emailed late night, by early morning I had a response that she had already emailed high up person X to follow up, and 2 days later the central office approval came. I was impressed.

the school must be in in the county council district she is running in; she would not do that otherwise.

Being visible isn’t enough. She’s made some very bad decisions over her time and really hurt a lot of children. She is behind the current mismanagement.

agreed. she is horrendous. She only cares if you can help get her elected to the county council.

Who respects her? She has failed on so many levels. For some of us, it has directly impacted our kids.

Julie used to be decent and respectable as a BOE member. As Board president she has been an absolute disappointment.

Her leadership is abysmal.

She cares more about timekeeping than she does about getting answers to important questions.

She is rude and dismissive to Rita Montoya and Laura Stewart, who are the only two asking any questions.

I don't know what happens to people who run for the board once they are elected but they change. They get sucked into the groupthink of everyone needing to agree on everything, they get so cautious about saying something wrong, they don't say anything publicly, and promises of accountability evaporate.

Yes. I've only watched 1 or 2 BOE meetings, but I definitely saw this.

she only does this to montoya and stewart. She doesnt seem to care about time when its anyone else

I think Julie is kind of an efficient, no nonsense person by nature, but it comes across terribly. Her and Rita bickering yesterday was so unbecoming (frankly of both of them).

They bicker almost every meeting. I do agree it's unbecoming.

I will vote against every incumbent running for any office provided there is a non MAGA non transphobic alternative. If there is not, I won't vote.

Caveat that I will vote to reelect Montoya when her seat is up for election
