Tried watching the first episode and gave up after about 20 minutes. It just seemed very cliche, especially the grunge sister. So stupid that she gave the boat captain a b job. I’m not a prude, it was just stupid.

I struggled to get through the first episode because everyone seemed so awful. I thought it was interesting how perspective changed over the series; it was never clear to me that Julianne Moore’s character was actually terrible or if Peter and Simone just painted her that way (did she ever ask for a frigging smoothie?!). And Devin, while messed up, was actually the better sister. In the end I wondered if the only Siren was actually Simone - everyone loved her but she was a pretty awful person who didn’t seem to care about anyone but herself. When Devin had the chance to go to college and escape her childhood, she came back when Simone needed her. It seems like “sirens” was their code word for emergency, but when Simone had the chance to escape her family she chose not to give it up and come back.

I enjoyed the first couple episodes, with Devon lugging around the edible arrangement and Kiki being freaky with her birds and the possible cult/murder angle.

Kiki’s chorus of brightly dressed women was a delight, and I wanted more. Devon’s cellmate was hilarious. The staff’s shared text chain bashing Simone was great.

But this show got worse and worse as it went. Kiki sadly turned out to be kind of normal, and Simone remained unlikeable throughout.
