But the fact remains that MOST of the people troubled by the tweet oppose Trump's immigration policies and support Biden's.

It's hard to take their moral outrage over the mean tweet seriously when they consistently vote for politicians who want these illegal invaders to be let in and allowed to stay.

Most voters support mass deportations. So most voters are less troubled by the tone than the people posting here.

I’m a Dem, I support deportations, and this tweet was vile. If you’re not troubled by the tone, you are troubled. They may have to go, on that you and I agree, but you don’t have to be a debased animal when you do it.

These are people first and foremost, and they deserve to maintain a shred of dignity on the worst day of their lives. For many of them, their only “crime” is overstaying a visa or having an asylum request denied. Their world is crashing down and their dreams are dead. Some are probably being sent home to become actually dead.

If you don’t believe these people are people and deserve dignity under these circumstances, you can hand in your respectable American card right now. Quit your church because you can’t be saved. I don’t care how many people are animals and think like you - there is no minimum amount of support that makes the fundamentally immoral moral.

i find it hard to believe that of the 77 million people who voted for this man, that a large percentage would see this post and approve of it.
they convinced themselves they could hold their nose and do it OR that he would focus on the economy and they'd be better off and his rhetoric was 'just bluster' but even if they could do the first, he isn't doing the second, they wont be better off and his rhetoric is dangerously cruel and insane.

Immigration was the second most important issue that drove votes for Trump. Most Trump voters want him to close the border to illegal immigrants and deport many who are already here.

I hear this kind of thing a lot. Democrats are always eager to position themselves as centrist.

The fact of the matter is that Democrats consistently vote for people like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who campaigned on opening up the border and pushing for amnesty to let illegals stay here, then let in 10 million new illegals, released known criminals into the country, opposed law enforcement cooperation with ICE, etc.

I believe that many Democrats do consider themselves very reasonable and "supportive of deporting criminals," but in practice, they vote for illegal immigration, open borders, amnesty, and no deporatations.

The leaders of the party are more extreme than the voters. But still. The biggest issues in this election were open borders and deportations. And if no democrats support open borders or oppose deportations, then Kamala wouldn't have gotten any votes. She is on record chanting "down with deportation," and calling for the abolishment of ICE. Illegal immigration surged during the Biden administration and deportations of violent criminal illegals plummeted. This was okay with all her Democrat voters.
