This fall they will play in an MLS next 2 league against other teams that have MLS Next two. Some of these are clubs that previously had MLS next and some are clubs that only had NAL and have a new MLS next two component. Ffs it’s not that hard to understand. |
No need to be so defensive. People are trying to get information. Is this a local MLS 2 league? Is the info posted online anywhere/ |
There are regions. The leagues are divided into regional divisions. Just like MLSNext. |
It just gets a little frustrating to keep repeating the same stuff. This Club seems to have done a good job of breaking it down-

RL in VA has become trash btw. Only 5 out of the 21 teams were competitive. |
+1. |
It will be better than ECNL. |
I’m seeing a bunch of ECNL kids at MLSN2 tryouts. |
Me too ![]() |
Kids cut from ECNL are trying out for MLSN2 and ECRL. What’s the big deal with that? That happens every. single . year… Nobody is picking MLSN2 over ECNL. But people may pick MLSN2 over ECRL depending on what club is near their house. |
Why wouldn't you pick MLSN2 over ECNL? |
We did, two years in a row. Rejected ECNL offers to take NAL and now MLS Next 2. Proximity for training matters. Friends matter. Number of kids on the roster matters. Your kid's happiness matters. And even if soccer is your kid's #1 priority, they may still want time for other stuff. |
Well, not defending ECNL at all, but MLSN2 hasn't played a single game, fielded a single event or had a single college commit. ECNL is a known element (good and bad parts) with solid rep. If I was an older player wanting to play in college (U15+) and was offered both (assuming all else is equal) I would take ECNL every single time right now. Maybe that changes in the future but you would have to be a fool to pick MLSN2 over it in most places in the country. |
Have any clubs stated if MLS Next 2 game schedules will align with the MLS Next 1? |
How could they align? Many clubs only have MLSNext2 teams.
