I don't think Harris picked anyone. I think she was pushed into the position and whoever was running things picked Walz. (That was part of the problem with Harris. Who really is running the show since she could rarely articulate anything.) And who's to say that they had any better choice? Shapiro might have turned it down, understanding that there was a high chance that this was going to go sideways--which it did--and ruin any future chances. |
That’s on Joe Biden. He went back on his promise to be a one-term president! He dropped out way too late. |
I thought the same thing a few weeks ago, but that was a pretty big margin in PA last night. It would have been closer with Shapiro, but I think he would have risked the embarrassment of losing his own state. |
I think Biden's long Senate career and "old white guy-ness" served as a stand in for an elite background for Biden. Also the fact that he was running against a field of women, minority candidates, and a gay man. He became the nominee by default because voters did not feel the general electorate would accept the others. And they were probably right! |
No. The VP pick wouldn’t have made a difference. The headwinds against the Democrats were too strong. They made a colossal blunder when Biden decided to run for a second term. |
For both parties, that would have been idea. But the problem for democrats was that Biden picked Harris for VP, and to get rid of him they either had to pick her or risk passing her over and pissing off a lot of people. So she was the only possible choice, even though she wasn't the best. If only Biden hadn't decided to run again in the first place, and then we could have actually had a primary. |
I can't stand the guy, but I am the product of two parents who were teachers. My mom taught at a Title I school, too. So, I will just say that the tampons in a men's room are not the worst idea. My mom used to provide so many personal hygiene supplies for her students and even their relatives. She had students ask to take pads/tampons home for their moms or sisters. We all know how hard that must have been for teen boys who avoid anything mensuration related as much as possible. Also, I have 2 daughters who play sports. When they are the visitors at another school, they use the boys locker room/bathrooms. Having free pads/tampons in there would make things easier. |
Moms asking their sons to borrow a tampon from his teacher and bring it home for her to use? umm, okay. |
I was shocked she did not pick Shapiro as I didn't want her to but felt that if she wanted to win, she had to. When she passed him up, I knew she was done.
Here's the thing about Biden - he picked her to win. It's about politics sometimes. I disagree with his choice but understand it. I would have disagreed about Shapiro but it needed to be done if she was going to win. Picking Walz was ridiculous. She's not a politician. Maybe a policy wonk?? But not leader of the free world. You just can't run from the hard decisions - that's a big red flag. If you have one flag, there's others. Yes, Walz was a mistake. He was terrible in the debate v. Vance who is a cretin. If you can't beat a guy like Vance, you suck. |
He NEVER promised any such thing. Don't try to blame this on President Biden. The blame is on the traitorous Dems who threw President Biden under the bus after a single lackluster debate performance just because Trump had a momentary surge after the failed assasination attempt. |
Yes, a very big one! |
Well we certainly know that the current VP was -- the man who picked her literally said so. |
Do you really think that if Biden had not run that Harris would have had a chance at the nomination? She would have been gone at the first primary state. |
