This alienated real women (trans women are not biologically women) and caused them to vote R or not at all.

See pastor Gino Jennings for the definition of a woman.

Agreed.

And it wasn’t necessary to adopt such rigid messaging on a fringe topic.

Heck, people forget that Obama didn’t embrace gay marriage.

Dems should have said we respect everyone—men and women, including trans men and trans women. No need to eliminate the word trans from generic labels. It’s not a bad word.

The amount of attention Democrats at all levels focus on transsexuals is certainly one factor contributing to the blow-out.

That is completely backwards. Republicans have been pushing it as a wedge issue for years.

They have openly admitted it was a campaign tactic to scare people. Bathrooms! Sports!

-lenient with illegal immigration
-tremendous impopularity of refugee cities whose budgets have been impacted by dealing with flood of migrants
-emphasis on wokeness, trans issues, DEI (all things that I care about but average person does not)
-perception that Trump will bring more blue collar jobs back home
-tremendous impopularity of Biden
-handling of Israel/Gaza war

+1. And Biden calling people “garbage” a week before the election didn’t help either (though I thought her response and distance to his comments was good).

Trump was calling Pierre ricans garbage a week before the election, called for the suppression of the free press, and for Liz Cheneys execution all in the past week. Not sure why Dems are judged on a double standard. The question isn’t why Kamala lost - it’s why did trump win despite all of his disqualifying factors including counted felonies, staging a coup, being twice impeached for quid pro quo and trying to obstruct democracy, his general vileness and all the other corruption of his first term.

And I honestly have no idea. I am completely puzzled. Trump is a disaster of a candidate. My best guess is that voters just didn’t “like” Kamala for the same reasons they didn’t “like” Hillary- deeply rooted misogyny. The war in Gaza also likely fractured democratic support, not unlike Bernie bros in 2016.

Hilary and Kamala are two deeply unlikable women. I held my nose and voted for both but neither one have a shred of likability.

Oh stop, both are good kind nice people. Far more likable than Trump.
But in America, women have to be Mother Teresa. Men just need a pulse

Yeah,
I think that’s the lesson.

Dems walked away from the working class. The teamsters vote should have been the flashing red sign for the Kamala campaign.

Why do you think that is?

Because the teamsters don’t like lady leaders or because they don’t like immigrant workers/competition?

What misandry.

Good and kind? Is this a joke? Hilary was behind the dossier that launched the ridiculous Russia collusion narrative. It was all a lie and people on this very board fell for it. It’s not good and kind to lie to the American people.

The Dems went around the primary process, that is the first thing. I voted for her but that ticked me off. This upset my family who live in Wisconsin.

Second, her VP pick. She needed Josh Shapiro or someone from a swing state that she needed.

She couldn’t answer policy questions especially those when asked what did she disagree with on Biden.

The border and the economy. Those are huge issues she just kind of ignored.

She needed to have better policy positions and stronger policies other than first time homebuyers get $25k to buy a home. As someone who was a first time homebuyer in the last few years we worked hard, saved, and bought a small home that is a bad policy.

Friends and family who live in swing states didn’t like a lot of things about the current administration and see her as part of that. The Dems should have done a primary process and given someone a chance not associated with Biden maybe then they would have won?

Who ever said “I’m leaving America if Trump wins” … don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

She was just a disingenuous empty vessel propped up by the Democratic party machine. She didnt own up to any of the mistakes of the Biden administration. But the blame is pretty on Biden for picking her for VP due to gender identity politics, not getting out of the race to allow for a primary and then just picking her as a replacement without allowing for a primary process.

Biden not stepping down and the lack of a primary process!
Kamala didn’t have a chance to become a household name

America cannot envision a woman, any woman, in the White House, all other factors aside. A lying con man who says what angry white men want to hear is preferable. They can fantasize about the perfect world the orange one promises and feel so good about themselves.

Republicans weren’t the ones rewriting Title IX. Sorry but this one is all on your side.
