Just showing racism and misogyny are strong with white males. Breaking news, I suppose?

We know they would have bc they already did! And that was before Biden-Harris bailed out the pensions.

Awful.

They endorsed Biden before Biden / Harris let in millions of workers who are willing to work for far below what a union worker has negotiated. You're harping on pensions but depressing wages and making the job market more competitive during the working years isn't supportive of American workers.

100%

This. The millions of illegals work at wages far below union wages and take away union jobs.

They take away union jobs?
Huh. I don't see Teamsters clamoring to pick fruit and vegetables under the hot sun, or to clean rooms at motels or to scrub pots in a hot kitchen...

Teamsters have always endored Democrat candidates for decades and decades.

The fact they won't endorse Kamala says a lot!

The bolded is correct. "The Teamsters have endorsed the Democratic ticket in every presidential election since 1996, when they did not endorse a candidate." But, interestingly, "the union had closer ties to the GOP decades ago, endorsing Richard M. Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush."

Bill Clinton won re-election easily in 1996. Maybe this isn’t such a big deal.

My brother just retired as a 40 year member of the teamsters in Western Pennsylvania. He and many of his fellow union members are still registered democrats but haven't voted that party for president since 2008

Teamsters are custodians. And construction workers. And warehouse workers. And many other jobs in which these new workers will compete and drive down wages and benefits.

Plenty of legal, white scabs willing to work far below union wages too. And those rats all lick the boots of Trump, Vance and their corporate cronies.

Teamsters say it is too close to call so they won't endorse (with a straight face).

The leadership wanted to endorse Kamala, but their members won’t vote for the empty vessel.

Their "members" should have the freedom to vote as individuals without undue influence that can be created by an endorsement from a union or any other entity an individual may be affiliated with. Everyone should agree with this regardless of party affiliation but they won't because most people have lost all reasonable intelligence while hanging out in their political bubbles.

Members should have the right to negotiate their wages & benefits with employers individually and see how that works out.

It’s literally called a “union.” Kind of suggests a joint effort.

It isn't a joint effort when it comes to politics and who "members" vote for, dimwit. Corporations control way too much of our political landscape.

it should be a joint effort though. The political landscape affects workers ability to negotiate against corporations. Workers need to hang together or they will hang separately.

1. This is a gross way to describe people
2. People here legally have the right to be here. Those without permission to be here do not.

And they will vote for trump, who is a union buster and whose project2025 seeks to ban overtime pay and other concessions unions have won over the decades.

Do you even understand how a union works? "those people" are not in a union, and the employers who employ union workers can only employ union workers. So the driving down of wages and benefits only happens in non-union shops. so what you are fearing isn't going to happen, unless of course, Trump wins and project2025 is successful, in which case, everyone's wages and benefits will go down, regardless of immigration status.

Your brother and his colleagues may be registered Democrats but in truth, they are Independents; just as we all should be.

The political discussion has moved on from people here legally versus those not. Springfield is under siege from the right because of people who are here legally. The GOP's second in command has decided to just go ahead and call them illegals anyway.

Of course they did because Harris is pro union and Trump is not. Trump will do nothing for the teamsters union except try to weaken it.

Too bad Biden bailed out their pension funds. Should have let those go belly up and tell the teamsters to talk to the Republicans.
