The school my kids attend- no paperwork is needed to enroll the children of illegal immigrants, either for classes or free breakfast and lunch. Why do Americans have to present appropriate paperwork for their children? Shouldn’t all families and children be treated equally?

Where is this school that you don't have to show where you live in order to be admitted into school? Or vaccine record? Or birth certificate or passport?

Basically, they ensure that under no circumstances will someone who attempts to enter the country illegally will ever be a legal resident or get any benefits. That strongly discourages illegal immigration.

The send them to a prison compound on the island country of Nauru. Many end up staying there for years on end since they don’t want to go back to their home country. The compound does include schools for the kids and other basic services. I guess some people feel at least they get a basic quality of life in the prison compound vs struggling so hard and threats of violence in their home country.
