I predict given the timing, it will happen soon, at a point where DNC can bypass the primaries and substitute whoever they want. If I really wanted to get conspiratorial, I might even speculate that there was an off the record deal not to prosecute in exchange for stepping down. The report says they aren't prosecuting due to his mental state, however he was not senile at the time he took the documents, some dating back to the 70's. I say all this because anyone who knows anything about politics knows how well everything is planned and timed, and there's certainly no coincidences.

I was with some serious D operatives recently and they sketched out a way to pull the switch at the convention. The trick in doing it then, however, is that the substitute HAS to be well known and well liked because there isn’t a ton of time.
