Evelyn (!!) And Alice are quite popular!!!! |
There is a Thelma in my daughters 3-year-old preschool class. I don't think that name is EVER coming back, but it did make me smile!
(I later found out that little Thelma is named after a Grandma Thelma.) |
The name spikes every time a new version of "Little Women" comes out. Little Women names: Josephine (Jo) Margaret (Meg, Daisy) Elizabeth (Beth) Amy |
More names from Alcott:
Eight Cousins/Rose in Bloom Rose Jessie Kitty Phoebe Myra Clara Archie/Archibald William George James Stephen Charles Alexander Jo's Boys/Little Men Nathan (Nat) Daisy Theodore (Teddy) Franz Emil Dan |
Did they lose a bet? That's terrible |
I knew so many Amys in the 80s that they needed qualifiers. As in Cute Amy, Blonde Amy etc. I don't know where they all went, though. I always liked the name. I love the name Thelma, especially in Spanish, but I wouldn't name a kid Thelma, I'd like to meet a little Susan and Bruce. |
Minerva Candace Eliza Thaddeus Nellie Reba May Minnie Lena Veronica Viola Jane Matilda Arthur |
Peggy
Harriet Wanda (it could grow on me) Beverly (love) Lois Rhonda |
Curious why it makes you chuckle. My dad's name is Bruce and if we have a son my DH agreed to go with it. |
NP. It’s just such a gruff middle-aged man name it feels wrong for a little baby! It’s cute though and a perfectly good name. |
