We moved to this house 5 yrs ago. Last year I saw a frog in the bathroom on the main level. Picked it up and threw it outside. We had pest control yearly and I called them and they say they don’t do anything for frogs.
Fast forward to this week I again saw a frog on the rim of toilet seat picked it up threw it out. Today again another one same bathroom and threw it out . None of the house doors were left open. Can someone help to figure out what is going on? What do we need to do ? |
Maybe they’re coming up the toilet? |
|
+1! Where does your water come from? Well? |
No we have city water and sewer. In NOVA Op |
Yep. This happened to me when I was a teenager. Grew up in Florida. Once stood up from the toilet and saw a frog on the back of the toilet seat. Almost gave me a heart attack. Another time I opened the shower curtain and saw a frog sitting on the counter behind the sink faucet. I hate Florida. |
But we live in Northern Virginia. No water body near our house. |
Does someone leave the bathroom windows open? Do you have a buried creek/rain water sewer that drains your street?
Are these frogs small young frogs? Or mouse-sized or bigger? |
This is funny.
We literally have a waterfall pond right outside our sliding glass doors and we’ve never seen a single frog inside the house. And there are dozens of frogs out there! My kids started naming them and quit when they couldn’t keep track anymore. |
Maybe if you build a pond in your backyard your toilet won’t look as appealing? |
No all doors and windows are closed. We have a guest bedroom and a bathroom on main floor . This bathroom toilet is used 1-2 times a week |
Not very small . Medium size not as big as mouse either |
There must be some kind of inspector that can go over your house. They are getting in at the same spot. |
I believe so and this is what I am trying to figure out . Who should we call? Should we start wit handyman or pay a plumber ($200) to come and look at it. OP |
Do you have a crawl space under that bathroom. Probably no insulation and the frogs are getting up through a crack there. |
