Can you recommend a dermatologist to treat a toddler for eczema (specifically on the lip and around the mouth)?
We met with one dermatologist who, while nice, was not very helpful. |
Children’s medical center DC |
You probably should see an allergist first. In small children, excema is often caused by allergies. |
This is what our pediatrician recommended. We met with an allergist named Dr. David Jeong (Montgomery County). He was very kind and helpful. And we got an appointment the same week! |
Robert Silverman is a good dermatologist, but it's usually pretty hard to get an appointment. Maybe start with the allergist recommended above to seen in faster. |
See an allergist first. |
Agree with dermatology at children's national. |
See Dr Silverman. He worked a near miracle with our infant daughter's eczema. |
If your pediatrician is willing to call Dr Silverman, it might be possible to expedite an appointment. |
Agree with allergist recommendation |
OP here: thank you for these great leads! |
Burcin fraser dramatically helped our kids eczema |
I disagree about allergist. Our pediatrician was insistent for years about various allergies. We went to Children’s National Derm and their treatments pretty much cleared up all the eczema without any dietary changes or allergy meds. |

Dr. Campbell at Virginia Square Dermatology. We got in quickly and the changes and medications she recommended fixed my daughters eczema on her face. |
