Because I didn't expect ARL Dem's to implement the modern day digital equivalent of a poll tax, I wasn't aware until today that in order to vote for the School Board, you have to register specifically for the caucus before voting even if you're already a registered voter, and even if you plan to vote in person. You need to fill out this form:https://form.jotform.com/233516885945066 |
Love checking the box on that loyalty oath knowing full well I won’t be abiding by it. |
Ah the DINOs, yes we remember you and your friends from the last election as you got your DINO elected. |
I had no idea this existed. Is anyone publicizing this? What if you show up at the caucus as usual without signing this? Can you sign up on the spot? |
https://www.arlingtondemocrats.org/sbev2024 “ IN-PERSON VOTING If you wish to vote in person, you just need to show up during one of these in-person days and times below. You do not need to fill out a participation form in advance to vote in person.” |
They updated it after getting some black lash. Now you can just show up in person w/o preregistration. |
Mmm...party purity tests are doing such a great thing for modern day politics. |
To a certain extent you will because there’s almost never any competition from R candidates. The Dem caucus has become the de facto election in Arlington so I don’t let their unenforceable pledge stop me from having a say in who runs this county. Especially for the supposedly nonpartisan school board. |

Same. I have no issue checking the box. I usually do support the nominee, because, well, there's not a lot of other choices, but I have no qualms because the primary is the election for all practical purposes and I want a vote. Speaking of, if you registered to vote electronically, you should have gotten your ballot yesterday. Check your email. |
