Looking for a small concierge / private practice medical group with small number of families in practice and on call care. Have any to recommend? Understand many may have wait list… |
What location do you prefer? I love mine in NW dc/Sibley hospital office building. |
In order of ideal location… Bethesda/Rockville, NW DC or McLean (if needed) |
Frekko Primary Care |
My recommendation: Don't support concierge practices. |
All slimeballs. Pay the insurance AND dr. Slimeball because they want to see 10 vs 30 patients AND earn the same amount. They don’t give a damn about you - you are just a pawn in the game of greed. |
The same could be said for non-concierge doctors, albeit with the greed attributed to the PE firm managing their clinic instead of the doctor themselves. Better to be one pawn of 10 than one pawn of 30. |
I dont know why DCUM has an issue with doctors wanting to make money,,,shouldnt lawyers work for free then too, cpa's, teachers.. |
Talesnick in Chevy Chase is now this.
We are leaving not worth it to us. However he is an excellent MD |
Dr. Adam Possner in North Bethesda but he usually has a waiting list. |
Because they're bringing down the healthcare system. I don't see how you could possibly compare a public school teaching working for$65,000 with a gastroenterologist making $500k. Or a radiologist making $600k. Sure, they complain about their pay equally, but they're hardly the same. |
I blame our profit driven health insurance system. Fewer patients means fewer claims. Insurance companies ration care by making it as difficult as possible to get reimbursed so people give up. They give you wrong info, put you on hold forever, basically deny claims improperly so people have to appeal them. If I worked in the field I would want to reduce the extent I have to deal with sociopathic health insurance companies as much as possible. If policymakers were willing to regulate these companies more effectively (e.g. fines for denying too many claims improperly), maybe it wouldn't be such a nightmare to deal with them. |
Eileen West in FFX. |
You have no idea how mentally stressful it is being a doctor. Not everyone can do it-intellectually, mentally or physically. One radiology oversight can take someone's life. Doing gastro procedures is not easy. PCPs make 150-300 working like dogs. My teenage doctor thought she wanted to go the medical way but then sees how much her pediatrician works and changed her mind. |
And im sure you are middle mgmt making 140 writing unnecessary emails and doing unnecessary meetings all day...funded by taxpayers. |
