ISO recommendations for psychiatrist who specializes in anxiety and possible OCD?

subject line says it all. I don't know where to begin and it seems that there are many psychiatrists out there but I hear it's really hard to get an appointment. Any recommendations? NW DC or MoCo preferred.

Did the person that gave you the diagnosis not recommend anyone?
If you don’t have a diagnosis I would start with your regular doctor.

Our pediatrician gave a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder and a list of psychiatrists to call for further evaluation of possible OCD. I'm looking to see if anyone on this board who has had a good experience with a psychiatrist has a recommendation.

A regular therapist with experience in OCD can evaluate them. OCD doesn't necessarily require medication (mine responded rapidly to ERP alone), so this is an option if you can't get in with a psychiatrist soon.
