No insurance for semaglutide

Anonymous
Apologies if this has been asked before (I'm sure it has) but what have folks done if you have no coverage at all and aren't diabetic? I was so excited that my doctor was willing to prescribe it after I was finally ready to take the leap after every diet has failed - and my biglaw insurance is failing me.
Coupons? Canada?
Thanks...

Pay for it. if you are working in BigLaw and want to use a diabetes drug for weight loss when you don't have diabetes, you need to stop grubbing around for coupons and looking at foreign pharmacies.

Ignore the jerk who hates lawyers and anyone on these meds. Zepbound is probably your best bet. And it sucks your insurance doesn't cover this. $1500 a month is a lot.

Hahahaha!

Perhaps get diabetes first?

I just buy it.

You could eat less and move more?

I buy it thru Canadian Insulin at about half price.

Impossible. This doesn't work. All the research shows that diet and exercise do nothing.

You pay for it.

I'm diabetic but not in insulin. My insurance won't pay. I decided not to pay and continue working with a diabetic counselor.

If it isn't covered, what other choice is there but pay for it?

Zepbound currently has a savings card that reduces the cost to $550 a month out of pocket.

You can use a telehealth provider to get compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide for $200-700 a month or just pay for Zepbound.

not quite sure this is true. many people have lost weight through diet and exercise over the years. my husband is one of them. he lost 20 pounds and has kept it off for a couple years.... through diet and exercise!

yes, sometimes it comes back.

I pay for it. Many people do. If you are in BigLaw you can afford it.

I get a compound from my doctor, which means I have to go in for the injections. But it is about half the price of the brand. I trust the compounder my doctor's office uses more than I would a mail order, but they could be the same.

Yeah, I agree. I was being sarcastic.

All you non-diabetics need to check out one of the "I'm so fat" DCUM boards where the morbidly obese diabetics are complaining about those of you who are causing drug shortages with your "vanity" scripts.

Not very DEI-minded of you to be snatching these drugs from the deserving obese.

You pay out of pocket or you don't take it. It's not rocket science. Your biglaw brain couldn't figure that out?

Or you just eat less. Your choice.
