Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
| Can anyone recommend a good date-night restaurant in downtown Bethesda? We are new to the area and want to have dinner before seeing a movie at the Landmark Bethesda theater. tia |

We had fun at Black's last week |
| I am very interested in this also. Thanks OP for posting. |
| Second Black's. Persimmon is also very good. |
| Grapeseed |
|
Second Persimmon. Down market a little bit is the new Mussels bar - havent eaten there, but the chef's other restaurant - brasserie beck - is very good. Mon ami Gabi has decent bistro food and is right next door to Landmark.
The issue with Blacks and Grapeseed - they are both good, but they aren't as convenient to Landmark - about 6-7 blocks away at least. |

Mussels bar doesn't take reservations I think, and may have a long wait.
In that area near the theater, Green Papaya is an option if you want vietnamese food. Have heard mixed things about Redwood but not enough good things to try it yet. |
| Mon ami Gabi - totally overrated!!! |
| Olazzo on Norfolk. |
| Second Mon Ami Gabi and Blacks. Jaleo, on the other end of the block has good tapas. Down the block on Bethesda Ave you have Parker's which is nice and has a special menu that's 3 courses for $30, City Light's is my favorite place to get Chinese, and Tara Thai is great as well. |

Mia's

| If you're in the mood for Italian, Assaggi is good. I also really like Persimmon. Haven't tried Black's yet. There are lots of fun choices - have a good time! |
| Raku (for sushi), Jaleo, or Mon Ami Gabi! |
| Divino. Very nice Argentine place, great pasta and steaks. Right on Wisconsin Ave. |
| Agree with Persimmon. If you're going today or tomorrow, they're still doing restaurant week menus there and it's quite a steal for the amount they give. The quality is great too. |
