night trauma/anxiety in tween...any strategies to relax?

Anonymous
My anxious tween struggles calming himself down at night to fall asleep-hismind goes to every which way and he gets worked up. Any strategies I can encourage him to use to relax and fall asleep? He wants to be able to go to others houses but he is a prisoner in his anxiety. We will work on therapy but in the meantime, anything that may have worked for others that I can encourage trying? Thanks

Calm app

Guided meditations, or a book or show (audio only) that he knows well, can sometimes help 'turn the brain off'

Otherwise, I would consider medication, honestly.

Check his iron saturation levels.
Try magnesium or melatonin

Can you sit in the room with him for a little bit?
