Westfield HS-Student murdered

Anonymous
This is so tragic.

My dd goes to Westfield and the school is full of police this morning. It seems they are still looking for the shooter. It says they all knew each other. I feel like school should have been closed for the day. Would you go pick your kid up if there was a chance there was an armed kid at their school who had just killed someone? Its so awful. What a tragedy.

oh, man, that's horrible.

i wouldn't feel good about my kid being in the building either op, but its so easy for kids to get their hands on guns, it could happen any day at any time.

It sounds like the police know who the shooter is, since it says they all knew each other, but they haven't found him/her yet? How long can a teenager elude the police?

The shooting took place outside of school? I was able to read that before the paywall went up.

The shooting took place after school near Coates ES and Coates went on lockdown.

The title and your post are (I suspect unintentionally) misleading. No one was murdered while in Westfield high school.

I don't think it is misleading. A Westfield HS student was murdered. The topic is Westfield HS b/c we are in the FCPS forum.

And what difference does it make where he was murdered? It sounds like they got home from school, and had a fight. Not really enough time to go home and get a gun, which means the student likely had the gun at school. The shooting was at 3:30, school dismissal is 3:00, they likely took the bus home so that's right around when they would be getting off the bus.

Horrible.

The police know who did it, why is it taking so long to find one teenager, on foot?

My guess is the police are at the school talking to his friends trying to figure out where he would go to hide.

Same as yesterday's post "shooting at McNair" implying an occurrence at McNair ES when in reality it was the surrounding McNair neighborhood. Obviously these are titled this way to give the appearance of dangerous schools to show up in news and search results.

Does the title say “student murdered while in Westfield High School”?

Dude, everything is not about politics. A parent whose kid is at Westfield HS posted this, not some troll with an agenda. Sorry that the exact wording was not to your liking but jesus christ have some perspective.

I don't see a post about a shooting at McNair.

I am surprised that area is zoned to Westfield, its pretty far away.

The shooting was at 3:50. Your entire self-involved premise is wrong.
