Does anyone know how many Beauvoir 2nd graders applied to Sidwell this year? Of those, how many were accepted?
Same questions for Beauvoir 3rd graders. Thank you. |
| Sidwell didn't take any new fourth graders. |
As in didn't take any new fourth graders because there were no openings. Or didn't take any new fourth graders from Beauvoir. Or, I suppose, both. |
Both.
|
| Rumor has it that 2 Beauvoir 2nd graders will be going to Sidwell next year for 3rd grade. Can anyone confirm? |
| Don't know if they're going for sure, but I know of two families who were accepted, so I can confirm that. |
| Sodwell definitely accepted Beauvoir students at 4th grade this year. |
| Hmm. How are we going to resolve this conflict? Thumb wrestling, anyone? |
"Deep Throat." are you out there?! Help us settle this!? PS - For you regular Beauvoir focused readers, you get the reference. For others, if you are at all curious, there's a related thread out there relating to an apparently omniscient source. We Beauvoir junkies don't ask any questions about Deep Throat's identity, but treasure the information she, he, it provides. |
| As a current Sidwell parent I can tell you all the admission years are Pre-K,K,3rd,6th,7th and 9th. Unless someone leaves. |
Are there many kids that leave for 4th (say, to go to NCS or STA or other schools that have 4th as an entry year)? |
|
Not the PP, but 4th grade is the top of the "lower school", so it is very rare that someone would leave unless there is some sort of family obligation (job etc).
Generally speaking, once a child is at Sidwell, they will stay through 12th grade. Obviously there are exceptions, but there isn't a re-application process such as at Beauvoir. |
I personally know one. Mom told me herself. |
|
I'm not sure if it's the same one - but I also spoke to a mom of a Beauvoir second grader (a girl), who will be leaving Beauvoir next year to go to Sidwell.
|
| For the PP's who know the parents of those who are supposedly going to Sidwell from Beauvoir, can you comment on any special circumstances or connections that might have contributed to the transfers? |
