If you go to a gym where a fan is available, do you complain about the fan? Is it easier for me to just pick up and find another spot (after the fan comes out/on)?
Anonymous
People are exercising and sweating - the fan should remain ON at all times.

If it bothers you, find another spot, wear a sweater, or work out harder. People who complain about fans being on at a gym are the incredibly rude.

Isn’t the gym temp already adjusting for people being working out?

No, you’re expected to get hot and sweat. You think you need to be cool the whole time?

No it would be much too expensive to cool a while building to that degree. A fan moves the air much cheaper and helps move around unpleasant odors.

I don't like the fans blowing on me but I don't complain about them. I move away from them whenever possible.

I go into large buildings daily that have a/c running cold. Gyms don’t have a/c because they’re too big?

Are you dense? Are you commonly sweating profusely in large buildings?l and actively increasing your heartbeat? The gym would need to stay cooler than a regular building. Also moving air helps not have stagnant smells.

Then the gym needs to make it cooler if people are sweating profusely.

That's not how exercise/sweating works. I sweat when going for a run at 20 degrees. Most people do.

You need to wear more layers or up your workout if you're cold. When you're hot, there's nothing you can do. Make the modifications you need if you're chilly.

I used to go to this gym at 7 corners for its zumba class. There are ceiling fans and usually after 10-20 minutes most of the students would beg for the fans to be turned on. There were always 1-2 crazies who insist that the fans be turned off. There were days when fan switch wars would break out. The thing is, the fans definitely could not reach all corners of the large room, so these few ppl could simply move away from the air. But no, they insist on hijacking the entire class's comfort for their own.

So selfish and entitled.

I can’t stand the fans, I prefer to get sweaty and hot when I’m working out. But I don’t say anything because it seems that most people like them on.
